Brinley Campbell Crowned 2025 3C2A State Champion in 100m Hurdles

La Mesa, CA

Cuyamaca College sophomore Brinley Campbell, a graduate of Crimson Cliffs High School in Washington, Utah, capped off a record-breaking season by winning the 2025 3C2A State Championship in the 100-meter hurdles with a lightning-fast time of 13.84 seconds at the College of San Mateo on May 17. In doing so, she not only secured the state title but also broke the Cuyamaca school record for the third time this season.

This historic win marks Cuyamaca's first state champion for Track and Field in 11 years, a monumental moment for the Athletic Program.

Brinley first met the 3C2A "A" standard on March 1st at her season opener, running a 14.03, a time that broke the 25-year-old school record in the 100m hurdles. She went on to lower her own record on April 19 at the 2025 PCAC Championships, hosted by San Diego Mesa College, where she ran 13.92 to win the conference title. She saved her best for last, breaking the record a third time with a 13.84 at the State Finals.

This season, her dominance extended beyond the 100m hurdles. Campbell broke the school record in the 400m hurdles (1:05.92, set in 2024), and contributed to both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays throughout the 2025 season. She also ranks on Cuyamaca's all-time Top 10 list in multiple sprint events, 5th in the 100 meters (12.57) and 4th in the 200 meters (25.68).

Brinley Campbell is rewriting the record books, one race at a time.
